EDUCATION
Lisa earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Her passion for archaeology later led her to the Master of Arts program in Primitive Arts at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
WORK HISTORY
Lisa moved to Santa Barbara in 1988 where she was employed as a Senior Financial Analyst at Sansum Clinic, a Manager of Compensation Systems at Tenet Healthcare Corporate Headquarters, and a Principal in Healthcare Management Consulting Services at PriceWaterhouseCoopers. She retired at age 55 from SCC PHD in Pharmacy Administration.
HOBBIES
In retirement, Lisa pursued her passion for photography with Getty Images. She has sold over 2,500 photographs including four photographs of Australian cave paintings to the Museum of Man (Musée de l'Homme) in Paris, as well as a climate change photograph to the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York. Her images, particularly those of ancient cave art, have been featured in over 200 textbooks including three book covers, and appeared in over 30 television programs. Her obsession and dedication to preserving cave art led her to serve as co-founder and past president of the Santa Barbara County Archaeology Society, and treasurer and board member of the American Rock Art Research Association. While in Hawaii, besides photographing petroglyphs, she plays with ukulele groups in both Kailua and Ko Olina, and has played Kani Ka Pila with Ledward Kaapana, at the Queen Emma Summer Palace, and at the Windward Mall. In 2026, Lisa competed in the International Ukulele Festival.
VOLUNTEERING
Lisa grew up working in her father’s pet store, where her deep love for animals began. After retirement, for ten years she and her Australian husband Michael traveled the world as volunteers caring for animals. As a volunteer with the Summer Solstice Parade since 2002, she enjoys building floats and masks to spread joy to the Santa Barbara community at the annual event. She also has a deep respect for nature and is often seen at low tide picking up trash along the beach. Lisa is a volunteer with Tidy Seas, an Ocean Ambassador for the Santa Barbara Sea Center, Channelkeepers’ Watershed Brigade, Heal The Ocean and in Hawaii she adopted Kailua Beach through 808 Clean Ups. Over her lifetime, Lisa has personally removed more than 1,500 pounds of beach debris.
Lisa and Michael currently split their time between California and Hawaii.
